IELTS Indicator test and which universities accept this test?

IELTS Indicator test:
There is great news for the students who are not able to give IELTS exam due to the COVID-19 situation. This is an online test which you can take from your home through a laptop or desktop. The test includes four skills – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and your performance will be marked by IELTS examiners. Also, you will receive the result of your test within seven days, and it is the indicative score only. So, check with your university or institute before applying for the test.

Currently, this test is available in limited countries where IELTS test is suspended due to Corona virus. The list of countries will be available on 22 April 2020 when the registration will start for the first time. The information about fees for the test will also available on that date.

At present, the test is available in the Academic module only and maybe after some time, they can start a test in the General module. Therefore, this test can be used to take admission to institutes and cannot be used for immigration purposes.

How this test will be conducted?

To give this test, you have to fulfill certain conditions as described on the official website of both the British Council and IDP, and these conditions are as follows:

1. make sure that you have a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit and give your exam without any interruption.
2. a laptop or desktop with an active internet connection (Note: you cannot give the test on your mobile phone).
3. your computer must meet the minimum system requirement.
4. internet speed should be constant.
5. you can easily download and install Safe Exam Browser on your computer i.e. SEB.
6. for the listening test, you need a headphone that may be wireless or wired and it should have good sound quality.
7. a webcam is needed for the test as your speaking test will be conducted through an online interview.

The booking of the test will start on 22 April 2020, and to book the test go to the official website of IDP or British Council.
